Jason Chong has performed across theatre, television and film since graduating from the National Institute of Dramatic Art in 1996.
Jason will next be seen in Abe Forsythe’s LITTLE MONSTERS, the new ABC/Netflix drama series PINE GAP. He most recently starred in Kimble Rendall’s feature GUARDIANS OF THE TOMB, Adrian Chiarella’s short film BLACK LIPS, for which Jason won Best Actor at the 2018 Canberra Short film festival, and the second series of WOLF CREEK for Stan.
Jason’s other film credits include WANTED, IN THE RED, Jonathan Teplitzky’s BETTER THAN SEX, THE PACT, Rowan Woods’ award winning film LITTLE FISH, SEE NO EVIL, George Miller’s HAPPY FEET, FIVE MOMENTS OF INFIDELITY and Rob Minkoff’s THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM.
Jason’s TV credits include the Netflix epic drama MARCO POLO, MAXIMUM CHOPPAGE for ABC2, JANET KING, SERANGOON ROAD, BITE CLUB, THE BILL: BEECH ON THE RUN, ground breaking SBS series GOING HOME, MELROSE PLACE, STARTER WIFE for NBC and 20th Century Fox’s TERRA NOVA, produced by Steven Spielberg.
Jason’s Stage credits include the STC production of MOSQUITOES and CHIMERICA for which he received a Helpmann Award nomination for Best Male Actor. Jason has worked for most of the major theatre companies in Australia.
Jason is great with accents and has a natural, reassuring conversational tone. He’s also very familiar to the Sound Booth as the voice of Jackie Chan in several of his movie franchises. Jason is currently working with SLR productions on a new animated childrens’ series.
