Cherie NowlanDirector | Executive Producer

Cherie Nowlan is an award winning director of film, television and commercials. She is Executive Producer and Director of the highly anticipated Netflix limited series, THE SURVIVORS, based on best-selling author Jane Harper’s novel and produced by Tony Ayres Productions.

Cherie’s extensive credits in Australia and USA span drama, action, adventure, fantasy and comedy in broadcast, streaming and cable television. Those credits include; TELL ME YOUR SECRETS for Made Up Stories/Amazon Prime; SNEKAY PETE for Amazon/Graham Yost, REPRISAL for Hulu/The Littlefield Company, HELSTROM for Hulu/Marvel and THE WILDS for ABC Signature/Hulu, which was nominated for a GLAAD award for Outstanding Drama Series. Cherie has also directed some of Netflix’s most watched television series including YOU, SUITS, CLICKBAIT and OUTER BANKS. Her television comedy credits include YOUNG ROCK for NBC/Nahnatchka Khan/Dwayne Johnson, CLAWS for Warner Brothers/Le Train Train and SPEECHLESS for ABC Signature/Fox.

She also directed two pilots for ABC, including MISTRESSES which ran for four seasons. Her many broadcast television credits include the hit series HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER, ANIMAL KINGDOM, THE GOOD DOCTOR, LAW & ORDER ORGANISED CRIME and RIVERDALE. Her Australian credits include the multi award-winning limited series, MARKING TIME, for which Cherie won an AFI Best Director Award.

Cherie’s 2007 feature film, CLUBLAND (aka INTRODUCING THE DWIGHTS), starring Oscar nominee Brenda Blethyn, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for 11 AFI awards including Best Director and Best Actress. Cherie’s first feature film, THANK GOD HE MET LIZZIE, starred Cate Blanchett, Frances O’Connor and Richard Roxburgh, was nominated for five AFI Awards. Cate Blanchett won Best Supporting Actress.
