Anthony Mullins is a BAFTA and AWGIE award-winning writer and script producer with several high concept television projects in development. In 2022, Anthony was a finalist in the Queensland Premier’s Drama Awards for his play The Norman Mailer Anecdote. In 2021, Anthony released his acclaimed screenwriting book Beyond the Hero’s Journey which has since been published in the UK, US and will be released in China in 2023.
From 2015 – 2017 Anthony was a Development Executive for Matchbox Pictures where he developed and script edited Safe Harbour, winner of the 2019 International Emmy for Best Mini-Series. He then went on to script produce the fourth season of Nowhere Boys (for ABC and Matchbox Pictures) and the first season of Five Bedrooms (for Channel 10 and Hoodlum).
Anthony was the creative director of Hoodlum on several award-winning interactive projects for high-end film and television productions; including Lost, Spooks, Primeval, Salt and The Bourne Legacy. These interactive projects earned him numerous awards including a Primetime Emmy, an International Digital Emmy, two BAFTAs and five AWG awards (including the prestigious John Hinde Award for Science Fiction).
In 2012, Anthony was a nominee for the Queensland Literary award for Best Television Script for his writing on popular comedy The Strange Calls. Anthony’s 2011 television documentary, The Curse of the Gothic Symphony, won the AWG Award for Best Broadcast Documentary. Anthony’s short films and documentaries have competed in some of the world’s most prestigious international film festivals, including Cannes Film Festival, Aspen Shortsfest, Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and South by SouthWest.
