Karl Zwicky is a producer and director whose credits include producing popular Seven drama The Secret Daughter, Screentime drama Underbelly Files: Chopper and Janet King for the ABC. He directed The Doctor Blake Mysteries, House Husbands, Home and Away and Fat Tony & Co and was lead director on the second series of The Heights for Matchbox and the ABC. Karl produced the series Troppo for Beyond Entertainment/EQ Media and the ABC, released in 2022. He is also the creator and producer of Blood In The Sky, a mini-series in development with Beyond Entertainment and supported by Screen Australia. Recently, Karl was the series producer on Paramount+’s top rating show in Aus, Last King of the Cross, based on the bestselling book by John Ibrahim.

Karl’s other directing credits include Underbelly: Squizzy and award-winning series McLeod’s Daughters; as well as US productions Farscape, The Lost World, Beastmaster and Sinbad and the Minotaur. He created and directed The Miraculous Mellops and directed miniseries The Cut for the ABC, as well as episodes of Sam Fox: Extreme Adventures, City Homicide, Police Rescue, Flying Doctors, K9, Heartbreak High, and Tricky Business.

He was series executive producer and supervising producer on McLeod’s Daughters, series producer on Crownies and producer of A Model Daughter: The Killing of Caroline Byrne. Karl’s diverse directing credits traverse adult and children’s drama, live action and animated feature films. His feature Paws starred Billy Connolly going on to be a UK theatrical success. Vicious, which he co-wrote, were invited to ‘Un Certain Regard’ at the Cannes Film Festival.
