David ChidlowScreenwriter

David is an accomplished writer. He is creator and writer of The Last Days of the Space Age, a dramedy series for Disney+ which is currently in post-production.

His recent credits include LA Productions’ new series of Moving On with Jimmy McGovern for BBC1. He has written episodes for the previous two seasons. The series was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Daytime Series 2021. David wrote on season 2 of the police/noir drama, Hidden for S4C and BBC4. He wrote on the Amazon Studios’ series All or Nothing: Manchester City, which premiered globally to great acclaim in 2018. He also penned one episode of the anthology series Two Twisted, starring Greta Scacchi and directed by Rachel Ward.

With the support of the BFI and Film Cymru Wales, David is in late-stage development on a feature, A Greenham Woman with Oscar-winning producer David Parfitt and director Romola Garai. The film tells the story of an abused mother who seeks refuge for herself and her children in the eponymous 1980’s peace camp outside London.

His debut feature film, L’Histoire de Nos Petites Morts – a micro-budget French language relationship drama – which he also directed was produced with Margaret Matheson and supported by Film Cymru Wales. With the support of the BFI and Creative Scotland, David is again working with Margaret on Men of Steel, a feature telling the true story of the 1971 Upper Clyde Shipbuilders work-in. The script made the UK BlackList of best unproduced scripts.

David co-wrote the play, Diz for Prez, which premiered in London at the Soho Theatre before successfully transferring off-Broadway.
