Claire Phillips

Writer

Since graduating AFTRS in 2012, Claire has worked in the script department on numerous television productions. Her first screen credit was as co-creator, co-writer and producer on BedHead, a half-hour comedy for Fresh Blood - an ABC and Screen Australia initiative designed to unearth new comedy talent.

More recently, Claire has written multiple episodes of the seventh season of Offspring, and served as the series’ story editor. She has also written for both series 1 and 2 of Network Ten’s The Wrong Girl and was a trainee script editor on the first season.

Claire has twice been nominated for an Australian Writers Guild Award. In 2012, she was nominated for the Monte Miller Award for Best Unproduced Screenplay (Long Form) for her pilot script The Box, a workplace drama set in the cut-throat world of sports broadcasting in the 1970’s.

In 2016, Claire was a recipient of Screen Australia’s Gender Matters: Brilliant Stories funding, joining forces with Martha Coleman, Sarah Bishop and Ainslie Clouston to develop the half-hour satirical comedy Public Relations.
