Ashlee PageScreenwriter | Director

Ashlee Page is a multi-award-winning writer and director. Her short film The Kiss, funded by Screen Australia and the SAFC, was adapted from a Peter Goldsworthy short story and screened at Busan, Clermont-Ferrand, Palm Springs and Tribeca film festivals. The film received several prestigious awards including two AFI Awards, the Sydney Film Festival Dendy Award for Best Short, and the 2010 Melbourne International Film Festival Award for Emerging Australian Filmmaker.

The Wall Street Journal describes The Kiss as ‘a stand out short film’ and Shorts of the Week write ‘this film is a revelation…superior in almost every regard… 10/10’. Ashlee’s previous credits include writer and director of the award-winning comedy Layover, a self-funded short film that sold to cable TV in the US and screened widely both nationally and internationally.

Ashlee wrote and directed the On Her Knees chapter of the film compendium The Turning, adapted from the novel of interconnected short stories by Tim Winton, which premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival followed by a gala screening at Berlinale.
